I have a cottage which is built of sandstone at the rear I have an archway that leads to the front of the house, I have noticed a high level of damp on the wall it is a solid wall so doesn’t have a damp course so as a result the damp is transferred through to the internal wall, I think it’s due to that there is no gutter above the window,
Obviously fitting a gutter would help but there is an issue in doing that (I wont go into now) but what would be the best way to treat the damp somebody as a used dry the wall and then apply a product called Stormdry
I am keen to deal with this asap as the surface of the stone is starting to breakdown I have attached a couple of photos to show the problem
