Where do you even start....? Rhetorical question. You start by correctly identifying the fungus. It's Peziza domiciliana, or "Elf Cup fungus", not dry rot. Take the lino up and let it dry out and resolve to open the window more often after having had a shower. Job done.
I feel like I should read threads like that in a deep growly film trailer style voice:
"It starts off in wet timber but soon spreads to normal, dry timber... then after that it spreads to your hamster, then your dog and woe betide you if you leave your daughter alone at home. Dry Rot III: The Moistening. In cinemas and other listed premises from Tuesday."
