Hello
Would anyone have a view on rainwater pouring through window casing?
3 litres came through wood surround behind a wooden bar goes left to right across casing.
Some water is also visible outside the same point where stone is damp though not drenched.
Window is in Georgian building basement flat - frame was in place when I bought 14 years ago. Above the window is the arch holding the stone steps for entry into the building above. Very hard to see what gaps there may be.
This is third time in a year. Nothing in the previous 14 years.
What can have changed?
I see there is a gap in the putty which seemed to have some sort of wax patch in the corner, ie not the same as the rest. But this is located BELOW the leak.
Was about to replace windows but after research think restoration as good as apparently double glaze doesn't do much for heat loss, it's the draght-excluders which help. So the timing may be spot on for sorting this out.
Thanks for readiing
