Quarry Tiles for Path

Post by Susan Cambridge » Sun 13th Mar, 2005 1:19 pm

Does anyone now where I can buy reproduction Victorian quarry tiles 6" square for exterior use? I am trying to restore my path in terracotta/slate black tiles as it would have been originally, but cannot source reclaim locally and have only seen new tiles which are very regular and shiny looking.

Depends where you are, I saw some recently at Woodside(?) reclamation in Berwick-upon-tweed. If not, they are very helpful and might put you on the right road.

Thanks Julia, but we are now sorted. Changed tack and opted for black & white checkerboard tiles and slips and it looks lovely! As it happens the project is underway as I speak and I am expecting it to be finished in a matter of days. Thank you for replying anyway - I'm sure you'll find a buyer for your tiles (and there's always eBay - usually a lot of interest if listed on the architectural section in art & antiques)
