Anyone have experience with cork flooring?

So we have a concrete slab floor on our lower ground floor. After reading a bit on the forum, a real wooden floor doesn’t seem to be realistic, and engineered wood isn’t really the vibe we want (unless we spend mega money) as the rest of the house is natural looking wood.

We considered real linoleum but are now looking at cork. Seems soft, warm, durable, cool looking and suits the space as it is open plan - both kitchen and living room.

Has anyone laid a cork flooring? Any tips/thoughts on underlay or DPM? I’ve included a few pics from my Pinterest board for reference

Our house came with it in a half basement room on concrete slab. I got rid because I didn’t like the look at all, it was giving me ‘70’s vibe, and in any case was going to get damaged in places when a boiler and cupboard were removed. However other than a few slightly curled corners there wasn’t too much the matter with it and it had probably been down 2 - 3 decades at a guess. I replaced it with Amtico LVT. The concrete slab is obviously a problem as the place would originally have had flagstones, but I had no appetite for ripping it.

I don’t think so, but I didn’t pay much attention when it was removed. There’s probably “something” by way of membrane below the concrete, the floor shouldn’t be like that and it’s definitely causing the walls to be damp, however it was a tactical decision to leave that can of worms alone. The floor was prepared for LVT according to what the flooring people advised.
