Bay window lintel end rotten

Hey all,

The end of this lintel is rotten. It’s around 3 m long. Is the only option to replace the whole thing or can I repair and reinforce it somehow. I want to avoid replacing the whole thing because the rest of it is still in good condition. On the other side there is another thicker wooden lintel which supports bay window but it’s on good condition as well.

Probably worth figuring out why this side issues rotten first and taking care of that. We had a similar issue with our floor joist, there was a leak from the floor upstairs and over the years resulted in the end part getting rotten. The builder replaced the end with a new piece that was bolted together with the old. If you are really cautious you might want to consult a structural engineer but probably an overkill. We did because he was on site for other stuff so asked him to have a look at this as well. Most good builders will be able to tell if something like this is structurally sound.
