Hello everyone, I’m after some opinions on changing brick infills to insulated panels (timber frame house) hopefully this may also help someone else who’s interested in doing the same
So our original plan was
1- 25mm woodwool boards screwed to batterns with wood fibre insulation boards fitting in between the batterns and 15mm wood wool boards to internal, lime render to outer lime plaster to inner, all breathable…
I believe this has been the way people have been doing for a while now.
I’ve also heard of
2- fixing the batterns to the beams and recessing a thick cork board that fits to the batterns, then lime render outer and lime plaster inner to the cork board
3- same as cork board process but using a thick wood fibre board
4- fill the whole panel with hempcrete and lime render/plaster to
I hope that makes sense! If anyone has done any of these recently and can recommend any pros and cons
Many thanks!
