Carpentry Exhibition

I did a quick pop in to Japan House in Kensington yesterday to check out their newest ( free ) exhibition on carpentry. Awesome models and technical details of traditional Japanese joinery which doesn’t use nails. Thought it might be of interest to some https://www.japanhouselondon.uk/whats-on/the-craft-of-carpentry-drawing-life-from-japans-forests/ “Cartier” at the V&A is also spectacular and a suitable place to park anyone whose interests run more to the ‘stonking great diamond’ end of the spectrum.

I reckon we can make a family day out from that, I’ll stare at immaculate joinery that I’ll never be able to make and wife and daughter can stare at diamonds that we will never be able to afford, then we can go for lunch

The Cartier Exhibition needs pre-booked tickets and seems very popular, it was all sold out when I went so needs planning ahead. Carpentry one was just a walk in, although you can book a free ticket through their website, I think that’s more to encourage you to sign up for their news.
