I recently bought a old property from 1800 and uncovered some natural stone

Any idea what type of stone it is and how to clean please?

Looks like radiolarite. Basically a deep sea chert (flint) you often see pebbles like this at the beach. Is mostly Si02 so resistant to most acids and alkalis. Hot soapy water and a selection of brushes should do.

Brick acid will remove any plaster.
