Hello,
My first post on here.
I wonder if I can get any advice? I have a coal chute which has a rectuangular metal coverr situtated on a public pavement in a small town. The metal cover does allow rain into the cellar and I want to sto this. The trap door is abour 16 inches by maybe 30 inches. It has holes in it for ventilation I guess. I would like to put a cover in there to stop the rainwater from entering and it would be nice to still allow light into the cellar. I would imagine that there are strict rules regarding what can be placed there. The other option would be to just fill the whole chute up with building material etc and just totally seal it off. But I would prefer to have some light entereing. Any ideas? It wouldn't break my heart to lose the light aspect. The important thing is to seal the area.
