As our restoration continues , turning our early 1900's house back into one dwelling, there is now a problem with the ceiling in the hallway. The original ceiling is badly damaged, and when it was flats they used plasterboard to replace some and then hid all the mess with a stud wall (now removed). So one part is slightly lower than the other, which wasn't as noticable when there was a diving wall. They also wallpapered over some of the cornice and painted with Artex.
One suggestion is taking down the entire ceiling, which would result in damage to all the cornice. It's already damaged in places.
I am struggling to find someone who is an expert in cornice, I have one, but also like to get a few quotes.
Does anyone have an idea of what you would pay to replicate replace or repair the damage?
We are in London.
Thanks
