Cracked lintel and mullions what to do

Hi All
Looking for advice please
Not sure the photos are clear but the lintel has cracked on both sides and the mullions have started splitting at the top

Been told a few different things and not sure which is the correct solution

Just seeing on here if any one has come across similar and how they rectified it

That was asking a lot of that lintel over those slender mullians. There could be a timber lintel behind in a bit of distress too.

That's not looking at all happy. I'd agree there is a timber lintel in there that has failed putting more load on the stone lintel than it was intended to handle. Possibly due to water ingress from the windows above if they haven't been kept in tip top condition throughout their life. If that is the cause and your floor joists run front to back then they may need attention as well. The timber lintel can probably be got at internally but with a lot of disruption.

I've had the stone lintel over the front door here repaired with cramps and then rendered with stone repair mortar. The timber lintel behind it was just dust due to water ingress from a failed valley gutter. The joist ends above it weren't doing much either. We got at it by stripping out the vestibule and the box room above so that was relatively low impact in terms of period detail. However, it wasn't showing the sort of vertical displacement you can see at the ends of your lintel. I dare say if you sort the structural aspects then the existing lintel could be re-seated and repaired but will probably always look like its had work done. You'd have to compare the cost of that versus a new piece of stone.

What options have you been offered? Looks like there has been some sort of repair attempt already above the lintel?

I'm guessing by the street light that there is a pavement in front of it so consider your public liability if something lets go and it all hits the deck.

Hope you get it sorted, will be spectacular when repaired and the facade cleaned up.
