Exterior colour scheme advice

My builder is finally starting to apply the limewash (first coat is to the left and right of the window in the picture below). Not sure what it will look like when finished, but it seems to have much more life than the modern vinyl emulsions of all my neigbours' houses. The woodwork and ironwork will be dark green and the front door grained in medium oak. The red on the window ironwork is a primer.

I am now wondering what colour to paint the eaves soffits. All my neighbours have either painted them white or the same colour as the walls. The limewash won't stick to anything other than stone, brick, bare stucco or existing limewash, so that is not possible. The builder has primed them in white, which looks wrong (see next picture). Should they be the same dark green as the woodwork? I am starting to think they should.

I'd vote for the green. I think you're quite right when you say that white looks wrong - it would stick out like a sore thumb when the rest of the building is finished.

What type of filler is that below the 1st floor windows? I’ve never used limewash before so I would be interested to know if limewash sticks to all types of filler.
Also, is lime wash dense enough to obliterate the colour variations on a repaired façade?

Sorry to have missed this thread 2 weeks ago Nigel. I think green would be better than white.
