Remove Modern Paint - External Lime Render - DIY

Morning everyone, my first post here.

Now winter is drawing in and rain is getting worse we need to address the breathability of our building.

Solid wall construction and externally lime rendered, but with a modern paint non breathable paint on it.

What’s the best way to remove the pain without messing up the lime render underneath? Looking for a DIY method that we can do ourselves as money is tight.

Heat gun and scraper? Chemical stripper? You'd have to just try a bit and see. I believe you can get trial pots of strippers here: https://www.stripperspaintremovers.com/

We had good results with a wallpaper stripper. Depends how well adhered the paint is, some places it came off relatively easily, others it won't budge, especially if there are any modern render patches.
It is incredibly time consuming to do though, it has taken us months. Then there was damaged render to repair, cracks to fill etc. It would have been quicker to remove the render.

Just to be clear, you do mean the external render of the house right? Its a little late in the year to be thinking of doing this and particularly if the lime render beneath the paint may be a little fragile?
Sometimes though people use to the wrong terms - did you mean that you want to remove paint from the interior walls?
