I was up in Scotland last week and went to have a look at the long barrow at Fingask castle between Dundee and Perth. It's not all that period having been built last year but is brilliant. They have tried to follow the original style and methods of construction. Apparently building regs needed some convincing that it was OK to build without mortar. I wonder if a mention of the surviving ones built 4000 years ago helped or if they needed calculations.

Inside is a domed roof with lots of alcoves where you can pay to put a pot containing the incinerated remains of your dead. A few of the holes have already been filled. Some more alcoves on the outside too with a nice view.
Plenty more on the internet about this if you search. It's free to view but you need to know someone to have a look inside.

Here's the castle from a couple of years ago. It was rebuilt early 1900s when there was money floating around in the area. There is one much earlier room inside with 12 foot thick walls but otherwise it was a thorough rebuild. There is a piper leaning on a post on the very right of the photo. He is one of the custodians adding ambience after we left.
