I have water leaking through the spot where a roof replacement abuts an old wall. I have my theories about how the water is getting in, but what I’d like is some advice on the detailing where the ridge tiles meet the wall. Is this how it should be done?
Thanks. I found a few other pictures that show the wall—a real mess. We were only able to remove cement from one part and filled in a lot of the holes. I guess water is finding its way down some channel in the stone work. Perhaps the render could be capped at the top with lead?
The lead work isn't right for slates. You should have lead soakers under each slate and a lead cover flashing over the top. The ridge needs a lead saddle under it at the abutment.
