How Not To Do It With Pointing

This news article on the BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckgxwg4738eo has an interesting picture of a house in Scotland with painted pointing. I have never before seen anything like it, not would I want to!

Is that some hybrid between pointing and render? Can't decide which one so going 50/50

It looks a bit like lego I can maybe see why they would want to paint the pointing as in some places in Scotland, the houses are all brightly coloured render. And they maybe don't want to render - but that's just a guess. I suppose from a distance it might look coloured.

I seem to recall a cottage on the outskirts of Bristol and on the river front that had been painted in the same way - I wouldn't swear to it though. If that house is in Aberdeen, aka the Granite City, I can understand why the owner wanted to liven it up a little.

It's a practical joke (paint the town red etc.), or an AirBnB and only painted that way for TikTok vids and Instagram pics. It should be enough to send the 'street artists' somewhere else!
