Has anyone successfully insulated the suspended timber floor above their cellar (or subfloor void) in a period property?
If yes, what insulation did you use and how did you hold it in place between the joists?
Did you have any issues with the insulation getting damp or decaying over time? If using wool, did you get any moths?
I'm considering using natural/breathable insulation in the cellar of our Victorian semi. Most people seem to go with sheep's wool, but I was also considering hemp insulation (batts).
Which do you think would handle moisture better - wool or hemp?
Thanks!
