Hi all, we are currently ripping out an old kitchen that was smelly and damp. The backs of the base cupboards were part fallen out and there were damp smells coming through them. Now we've ripped all that out the bricks behind are quite crumbly and salty in places.
The house is stone walls with cavity and brick walls inside. We did have issues with the coping stones which we've fixed, this was causing damp on upstairs walls near ceiling so don't think this is the cause of the damp down here.
