So glad I found this site, thanks for letting me in.
As the title suggests I am a complete noob to period properties so be gentle please.
We are taking early retirement and have been hunting for a non listed c17/c18 property
Oooh there’s some nasty money pits out there!!!
We think we’ve found the one, C17 end of terrace not listed and almost identical to Richie’s but alas no monster garage.
Brick exterior and apart from a small porch it looks like the original footprint.
Looks pretty unmolested but would love any pointers on what to look out for before we take the plunge

Hello and Welcome to this Mottley Crew,

I'm sure that many others will come along soon to voice similar greetings and to help out if they feel they can. Your choice of identifying member id / handle, Sawnee, is interesting and presumably a pun intended perhaps to highlight a condition you anticipate after occupying this home? Its possibly quite appropriate really as a few of us have recently been discussing setting up a sister website, exclusively for PP members, which is focused on the the S&M fetishes many of us sometimes exhibit - it will also have a Bondage sub-forum dedicated to those with mortgage and insurance obligations. More about that later perhaps.

Whilst I could not say if you've dodged the 'Money Pit' bullet as yet, it has to be said that few, very few, really achieve that goal. Like most of us you may be able to off-set some of the financial burden by parlaying it away with some sweat, a few tears and maybe even some blood, but... in the end it will get you. Speaking of which, maybe others can ask some leading questions or other pointer to the contents of the Doom and Gloom box?
