I’m trying to diagnose a rainwater leak in a Victorian house in London (Grade II listed).
When it rains, no damp appears on the top floors, but water suddenly appears on the floor of the first floor next to a built in cupboard. Inside the cupboard there is a small pipe behind the panels which seems dry.
From there, water runs down along a cast iron pipe and appears again on the ground and basement levels.
• An old chimney breast is on the floor above behind a wall
• A section of roof above the cupboards was opened and no water was found
Any idea where rainwater could be entering?
