So the contents are not part of the sale but won't be removed. Hmm - does that mean they remain the property of the seller (I'm assuming it's a probate sale), in which case could the buyer of the house technically get into some trouble if they dispose of contents they don't actually own?

I realise this is unlikely to be a problem in practice, but it does seems a strange arrangement.

Maybe not a probate sale. Looks like possibly a fairly awful hoarding situation. Person may be detained or in a home or similar. If they've lost capacity to make decisions about their property, but bank do a repossession? All speculation but clearly some sadness behind the photos.

IIRC there are rules about such things with regard to tenants that leave behind things. I assumed that ours didn’t want the broken trampoline an old pair of underpants and … well I will let you imagine the rest, so did not follow the rules.
