avid reader but first time posting…
Converting the loft in our late Victorian terrace. Removed what I assumed from the front was a simple timber loft hatch and found the infills are in fact beautiful stained glass.
Presume it originally functioned as a borrowed light, perhaps bringing natural light to the landing from a window in the loft?
anyone know whether this is a typical Victorian architectural feature, or a likely to be a later addition? Anyone seen similar examples previously?
The frame is hardwood and the craftsmanship appears high quality.
