Painting over lime plaster, help needed

Hi All

Wondering if you can help as I can’t find the answer.
We’re due to move in to an Edwardian terrace which has lime plaster walls on the original part of the house (no damp recorded).
Previous owners used Little Green Intelligent Matt Emulsion (not the Absolute version which I understand is more suited/has a lower SD rating)

I’m wondering whether we can paint over this using the Little Green absolute Matt emulsion or it’s advised to remove paint first. I would prefer to remove if it’ll cause issues but thought I’d check if others took this approach.
Concerned with causing potential damage to plaster by removing it if using steamers or paint peelers.

I wouldn’t have put it on, but as it’s there and if it’s causing no visible problems (ie bubbling) then crack on. You won’t make it worse.

You can't really strip paint from lime plaster without causing damage. In the old days they would put lining paper on and paper or paint over that and that's useful these days as you can remove the lining paper and all the inappropriate paints and get back to the original lime plaster.

For walls where I have done that I'm planning lining paper and then paint so someone else has the chance to remove whatever people in the future paint cover the wall with.

Thanks all. Sounds like we’ll paint over it then and keep a close eye.
I think there’s lining paper on other walls/ceilings. Any tips for removing this?
