What a brilliant site! Thanks, Biff - it's gone straight into my bookmarks Reference folder.
But I'm not sure that 'fannying' is the female equivalent of 'willy waving'. According to your dictionary, fannying means "To mess about, to waste time on needless activities."
Whereas the male of the species is : " n. An unbearable male show-off. peacock; idiot; moron; tard. British slang."
There must surely be something that means the same, but with 'female' instead of 'male'.
Ah - I thought 'tard' meant 'retard', and even my family wouldn't go so far as that.
Mind you, the definition of fannying fits rather neatly as well. Perhaps I'm turning into a hermaphrodite.

(I couldn't make a direct link work)
"Environmentally conscious people - those who recycle, buy eco-friendly detergents and belong to green groups - are 7% more likely to take flights than the general population, a poll of 25,000 people by the market research company Target Group Index has found."
Hmm. I wonder if their environmental consciousness arose from the guilt of their above-average flying or whether environmental consciousness is generally more prevalent among the better off?
