1800 Cornish Stone Cottage. There are two man made holes in the granite stone of my fireplace . I have often wondered why they are there .
You cannot use the holes to hang anything as the holes to not go deep enough into the stone to provide any support . I initially and wrongly thought a cooking pot would have hanged from there .
I am at a bit of a lost as to what they were used for.
