Repairing moisture damage

Hi,

I’m looking for suggestions as how best to deal with this area above our bay window, the area is suffering from moisture damage, leading to peeling paint, cracking. I have dealt with the exterior it’s just the internal area I need to deal with now. You can see from the photos there are cracks and water stains on the wall and cornice.


Any suggestions? Is this a specialist job (plasteror?) or can I do it?

Most of that you should be able to deal with yourself. The biggest issue to me seems to be the donkeys years of paint covering most of these surfaces. Be ready though when you begin cleaning and preparing some of those cracks for repair, they will get worse before they get better.
