I am looking for folk's experience and opinions on retro-fit underfloor heating like the type undertaken by JK Floorheating. Their method is to grind channels into the screed and then install the pipes into the channels. The channels are then backfilled with a mortar and the final flooring installed on top. As far as I can see they are the only company in the UK that offers this service, but have been undertaking this procedure in Europe for a number of years.
We were unable to install the underfloor heating pipes prior to installing the limecrete screed so had resolved ourselves to installing radiators. I found this company however, so now we are thinking that this might be a more sensible way to heat the ground floor. They claim to be able to install the system into limecrete and I see no reason why a product like an NHL-based tile adhesive like SecilTek Adhere Cal couldn't be used to then fill the channels while installing the final floor covering.
Has anyone come across this company? Any thoughts or opinions would be much appreciated.
Many thanks.
