We seem to have a lot of rising damp on interior walls. The building is 16/18 c with the newer extension built in the 1980s.
There are no water pipes near that we can see so I think it’s capillary action sucking up.
Any help on what to do to sort it out would be greatly appreciated.. I had read to dig a channel round the rooms and fill with lime mortar or is this rubbish? They will be workshop rooms so no carpets going down
We have rising damp on lots more walls but think that could be due to cement render which we will be replacing with lime mortar.
Oh the joys of old properties
