Servants bell pull conduit

Hi All,

We have an "original" pull type door bell which is also routed via the outside of the house into the second hall where there is another bell. Now I have removed the plants off the front wall this second bell works

I would like to fit some form of external conduit to keep the plants off the wire. (I have found traces of what looks to be broken bits of original small bore ceramic conduit / pipe in the ground below the cable where I suspect it was ripped off and thrown.)

Does anybody have any idea of a source for a suitable conduit?

(I am wondering about using some straightened copper brake line.)

Would you consider replacing it with bowden cable or would that be too modern?

Or thin silicone sleeving might keep plants off the wire - even if they attach to the sleeving the wire may still have enough slippage

Micro bore copper pipe? 8mm See screwfix. Would soon dull down or could chemically age it or paint

I wouldn't use a bowden cable over a long distance. They are maintenance heavy. Brake pipe is a bit flexy and the hole inside is very small Fuel pipe might be easier to work with. It tends to come in a roll as long as you like from motor factors and in a variety of materials. I like copper-nickel (kunifer) which tends to have a coppery appearance but holds it's shape easier than copper.
