Morning all
We're finally contemplating some interior decorating 2 years in to our move, yay!
We are just doing a quick repaint of a bedroom so we can move into it while we have visitors in a couple of weeks. It's currently a very wrong burgundy colour on woodchip. The wooden floors are stained dark (good), and most of the furniture to go in there is a similar mahogany colour. The woodchip will be staying for now, we don't have the time to correct any problems we find underneath it just yet.
We're hoping to lighten it up without sanitizing it completely, and a light green appeals to both of us - and it seems like it might suit the floors and furniture well. But it seems like we run the risk of ending up looking like a hospital - or just being completely insipid. Would welcome any suggestions for a green that's suitable for lightening up a bedroom, and would play nicely with the woodchip. We've tried a tester of a chalky emulsion (craig and rose soft green) which seems to hide lumps and bumps better than some of the other testers.
our place is Edwardian/Late Victorian fwiw, picture rail and high skirting which we will be doing (or leaving) an off white, and the frieze will stay a cream on textured paper.
Many thanks in advance for any ideas!
