Wall Plinth EOT Victorian House - Help!!!

Seeking a bit of help please. I've discovered that part of the plinth (only found out via this site what it is called), has fallen away exposing brickwork. I feel confident the plinth is made of cement. The existing remaining plinth is loose, and coming away from the wall and clearly needs to be removed.

The entire building has pebble dash on it, and thankfully apart from about 1 inch above where the cement plinth has fallen away is sound.

I have checked and cannot find any damp proof course of slate or any other material, in addition there are a couple of air bricks, which are clear.

Initial courses of action

1. Remove cement plinth
2. Cut back pebbledash rendering to the point where it's sound
3. What should I use to finish the new cut edge of the pebbledash - stop bead?
4. Repoint brickwork - should this be with lime mortar?
5. Should I go below ground level with the repointing? If so how far?
6. Should the plinth be rebuilt - if so using what material?
7. Is there anything else I should do, or have missed?

Final point, this part of the wall is in a neighbour's garden where the ground level material is soil.

That is not a plinth. What you have there is a separate render coating covering the foundation/footing brickwork of the buildings wall. The pebble-dash finish over the higher sections of the brickwork would, if it were done properly, extend down to but not over and beyond any DPC. This lower section of render could pre or post date the pebbledash but it clearly needs some attention. You could consider removing any other loose material and simply patching it or you could remove it all and replace it.

Hi and thank you very much for this information. Would it be suitable to totally remove this render coating covering, then repoint all the bricks with lime mortar and leave it at that?

Yes but you will need to leave or make a cleanish edge at the bottom of the pebbledash to support effective run-off of rainwater. But that should/may occur simply bt removing that render.
