Hi All, first, I must apologise if I’m raising something that has been discussed a lot over the years (I have read historic posts). Second, I would like to ask for any guidance on locating an old well!
I live in Southern England (Hampshire) and we’re in the base of a valley. Not much digging is required to hit water (4/5 feet).
I have been considering digging to build a borehole or well, but also wondered if there’s any tips for locating the original well. I am aware that my house (from about 1750) relied on a well until around 1960 - there was no mains water nor sewerage until then.
Any pointers will be greatly appreciated!
