Not strictly period property, but in a few years time my log cabin may be listed 
Would linseed oil be a good product to use on the naked soft wood to preserve it?
I'd use the Holkham variety and am happy with the colour it would end up.
Should I look at products like Cuprinol etc instead?
It wouldn't have any other coating.
