Hi All,
We've started plastering now but I'm still a bit unsure about whether or not to install the woodfibre IWI. I definitely see the merits and want warmer bedrooms, but issues such as how to reattach the picture rails, skirting and curtain rails as well as how to cut around sockets and wiring without creating a cold bridge seem to make the whole process tricky. The cost is another factor. Any tips? Are specialised rawl plugs the solution? Also, my windows are not squared off either, rather a vertical column of bricks were sliced to give it more of a curved edge. I'd planned on using 40mm woodfibre on the walls and 20mm on the window reveals. The alternative is insulating lime plaster but that is very expensive and probably doesn't improve the u value much. If anyone has any advice around the practicalities of installing it properly and fixing things to it, I'd appreciate it. Many thanks.
