I'm faced with choosing where to put my WiFi router.
Not a Period Property question I hear you cry, but not everyone has solid stone 18" thick walls to deal with.
I know it needs to go on the middle floor (it's a 3 storey building), I have two choices, I like the idea of putting the router in the alcove next to the chimney breast as that will allow it in future to be ensconced on a bookcase in an unobtrusive way, but I'm concerned the chimney breast might unduly block the signal. The alcove is just under 2' deep.
The alternative puts it on the other side of the room, (the room is about 15' wide) and directly under where my bed will be. I think this might be the more logical choice, but less aesthetically pleasing.
Am I over thinking this, will a fairly normal sized chimney breast block the signal even if it is constructed from yorkstone?
