During Wednesday's downpours we had a wet patch appear under a lead-covered bay window roof. Our (pretty reputable) roofing guys have visited, said the lead looks fine and it was probably the excessive amounts of rain driving through the pointing on the exterior stone wall, especially as the wet patch dried out after the rain stopped.
They've recommended replacing some lost bits of lime mortar, which sounds fine, and then coating with this: https://www.igoe.ie/shop/120/owl_ducky_water_repellant_for_masonry/ Advice welcome. It claims to be breathable, but I am wary of spraying anything on the stone.
