A few years back I replaced, and levelled the bathroom floor which is above the kitchen. Being, I thought, sensible, I decided to relocate and replace the ceiling mounted lights in the kitchen. The intention being to improve lighting over the work surfaces, ostensibly by avoiding casting shadows over same and to help me avoid further head injuries. To explain; in the kitchen there are two small windows located on the east and north walls and hence little natural light so wielding sharp implements near delicate digits, mine, whilst also being unable to avoid casting a shadow over the work stations was getting a little dicey (forgive the culinary pun).
So, I moved the lighting electrics outlets to new locations directly above the work surfaces, and ergo above and in front of my hands. Excellent. Except for the fact that I/we had decided the old light fittings were inappropriate to the character of the room and therefore they were binned and, in the absence of clear direction or decision from the First Lady, replaced with cheap plastic ceiling fittings as a temporary measure.
That was three years ago!
In the continuing absence of clear direction from the appropriate design authority and the contempt shown to any suggestion of mine, however respectful and deferential such offerings have been, I now find myself appealing for help from other members of this forum.
Any suggestions please for suitable ceiling lights, with pictures if possible? They must be close fitting to the ceiling and circa 40W output and must not cast shadows if at all possible. :?
Many thanks in anticipation of finally completing this bloody room before I need to decorate it - again. :x
