Hi all,
I have just had an offer accepted on a 1750s cottage, and am looking for recommendations for an independent surveyor, with a specialism in these types of buildings, and someone who understands their workings and suggests appropriate work and methods for conducting that work. It is in the Midlands.
Thanks!

Re: Recommendations for surveyor
In my previous property I was informed I had rising damp in a second floor bedroom. In my current property, I have just had to get specialist asbestos removal contractors in because a surveyor "thought it was clearly plasterboard so didn't need to check". I therefore have a very dim view of such a profession and in future will not be bothering.
That said, I'm sure there are those who have had good experiences on here, I think this chap https://www.heritage-house.org/ has had good reviews, but I don't think he is cheap. Best of luck!

I used heritage house on our current property. Peter did it. Everything he identified turned out to be correct. Cheap? No. Knowledgeable, without doubt.a twig wrote: ↑Mon 31st Jan, 2022 10:12 pmIn my previous property I was informed I had rising damp in a second floor bedroom.
