Show me your period decorative / design

Post by 1895BrickConversion » Sat 12th Feb, 2022 11:12 am

As a compliment to another thread, could I ask members to post up photographs of their period internal decoration and design solutions.

Victorian / Georgian in a country style are of particular interest, but anything goes.

Thanks
Steve

Steve, here are a couple of pictures of one of our bedrooms, restored to original for a 1880 Victorian.

This is the only room restored to what I would consider “country style” the rest of the home is decorated in a more formal Victorian style.

I started a thread about a similar topic a while back. It probably isn't the one you are thinking of but here it is anyway. There are a few period photos of interiors taken around tha late 19th century in the thread.

PP, A very pleasing classic period decore. Any Victorian of means would be very comfortable indeed. Beth, you did a fine job of bringing a very period look to your previous home while being able to live in a very modern way. Really like your sitting room with the tapestry and the rustic fire place, it must have been very comforting on a cold rainy day. The laundry hanging in the kitchen to dry, you just can’t get any more period than that.
Here are a couple more pictures of our period decoration.
The dining room and the front parlour with what I believe to the original wall paper.

I don’t know if it counts as a “design solution” but I cover surfaces in elephants wherever possible  The occasional other animal sneaks in
