Have a central beam with smaller beams off of it, that is in need of repair, plaster was suggested but not sure it will stick, possibly cut up small pieces of plasterboard, not so sure.
id like to have it look like other areas of the same room, as per the pictures attached.
any suggestions please?

Hi There, there are plastic meshes available that can be cut and pinned to the beam to provide additional structure and support to the plaster.

Some screws randomly inserted but leaving the heads proud might give sufficient "bite" for some plaster to hold on to. That's if you really feel you have to do anything - personally I would tidy it up with a chisel, then leave well alone.
