Base Coat For Farrow And Ball Paint

Post by pj38 » Fri 25th Jun, 2021 8:06 am

Hi All

I am painting wood and Anagylpta with (potentially) card room green F&B paint , I’m using a egg shell, has anyone used a different base coat for their suggested ones and saved a little etc . I will need a dark tone .

Just a thought 😊

Thanks

Indoors, I wouldn't worry too much about mixing brands, so any decent compatible primer and undercoat.

On the anaglypta, thin the first coat 50%.

Agreed, being really cheap, trade white emulsion has always done me no harm for undercoats on interior stuff :)

I've even been known, when working on areas where I have had lime plaster, to limewash the whole lot first (wall, skirting and dadoes) and then used Earthborn clay paint on top - probably makes me some terrible heathen though...
