How do upper and lower floor fireplace's work?
I can't see up the lower chimney to see what it's like further up.
The upstairs fireplace is blocked up and I'd rather not open it up yet as I have far too much other work to be doing.
The upstairs fireplace appears to be directly above the downstairs one.
The rayburn is going to be moved back into the downstairs fireplace and the plumber has said he'll have to pay attention to building regs and therefore fit a flue liner, block off the top of the chimney and fit a pot.
If this happens and the upstairs fireplace discharges into the same chimney I'm going to be in trouble.
Might there be two flues up the one chimney..... does it work like that?
All our other potential and real fireplaces appear to have their own chimney in a stack, we have a 3 and a 2 plus this one.
