Afternoon everyone, hope you’re all having a good day
I’ve got a persistent damp patch in a bedroom. It predates me moving in. A roofer I trust has had a look, fixed a broken slate and moved a load of crud from around the chimney. We also moved the existing rock wool insulation from between the rafters to between the joists in case condensation was an issue. Neither of us could find any wetness in the loft over that area. Damp patch not improved despite adding additional heating to the bedroom and running a dehumidifier in there. Someone had a look at the chimney with a drone as an favour and noticed some dampness even on a dry day, although we’d had a lot of rain around that time. Funds are as always limited, and putting scaffolding up 3 storeys and around the chimney doesn’t come cheap. Before I commit to doing this and having a proper look, I wondered if anyone had any thoughts? Many thanks for any insight!
