Hello all. I'm a newbie here so please be gentle.
My partner and I have fallen in love with a cottage in our local area which was built in the 1700s and has a Victorian extension. I have viewed the property twice now, and have noted condensation in the windows, and damp patches on walls. We are very keen to make an offer, but I want to ensure we are entering into this with eyes wide open. My partner currently owns a cottage which he was planning to renovate, but now we are looking to purchase a family "forever home".
Could I please ask for your recommendations on what we should be looking for in terms of 'red flags'? Is there a checklist of things we should be looking at when viewing a period property?
Many thanks in advance
