Need to do a bit of repointing (where we have chiseled away the concrete "repair")
The readymixed lime mortar we have is very very white.
Tried mixing lime putty with some pretty red/yellow sand and it goes just as white.
Next attempt was mixing in some ash, which turned it almost completely black.
My theory is that the lime is very very fine and coats the sand, and the ash is even finer and coats the lime.
We are now trying some tumeric and also tea. to try to dye the lime...
Any other suggestions?
We need to achieve a sort of sandy colour to match the original stuff..
