We've just (this year) put in a LECA/Limecrete floor with UFH and we're now at the stage of building a slab for my Rayburn to sit on. My builder wants to build it using sand and cement(spit!!) but I have some questions.
Will a sand / cement slab react badly with the Limecrete underneath? If it will, what could we put between to stop the reaction? A layer of DPM?
Personally, I'd rather build the slab from Limecrete but we need it to go off quickly in order to get the Rayburn in, so I think Limecrete is out of the question.
What else could we use apart from sand/cement? Bricks? Would they be OK? Would we be able to get a flat enough surface?
Any ideas / advice would be very much appreciated as he's up for doing this on Tuesday. Thanks.
