HI everyone. I have a random stone walls in my Welsh cottage with a wide ranging collection of sizes and shapes of stone and have hacked off the cement render etc. off it, leaving the lime mortar. Once I've repaired/repointed said wall and plugged the large concave bits, I want to lime plaster but am not bothered about making it level. I'm happy to leave the odd stone face showing if it sticks out a long way and am happy with bumps and lumps. Can anyone point me in the right direction for some pointers on the best way and some good techniques for doing this?. Instinct says a wet sponge could be used to create a smooth finish, but apart from that, I don;t really know. I've looked on youtube and googled, but as soon as I mention "undulationg wall" I get told how to make such walls straight. lol.
Thanks/Diolch.
