Draft between floors, help?

i've got some wood fibre and wood wool kicking about, so will have a poke around and see where the gaps are. it was like a wind tunnel the other day so need sorting before the cold weather kicks in

If it were me and the draughts are so bad I would be looking very closely at the exterior of the building first.

What should i be looking at cracks in the mortar?

I would be looking for crevices and holes through the masonry resulting from lost/eroded mortar or damaged stones/bricks. If the house has cavity walls then its possible that strong winds could induce draughts considerable distances from the external point of entry.
