'Tongue in cheek' is how I could have more elegantly described that particular post!AI perhaps but my initial reaction was someone was taking the p--- Mickey.
Of course the reason that lime mortars are able to absorb movement is down to their low tensile strengths. A true lime mortar is mainly there to stop the stones/bricks from rocking and it's only the weight of the bricks/stone/floors/furniture/roof above that's holding it all together. It's a whole different way of thinking!
