'Tongue in cheek' is how I could have more elegantly described that particular post!

Of course the reason that lime mortars are able to absorb movement is down to their low tensile strengths. A true lime mortar is mainly there to stop the stones/bricks from rocking and it's only the weight of the bricks/stone/floors/furniture/roof above that's holding it all together. It's a whole different way of thinking!

I really hope we don't have AI infiltrating the forum.

We get a lot of AI powered bots requesting to join the forum, Malcolm and I do try and screen them out as best we can but as they become more sophisticated it is getting harder to discern the difference between an AI bot, a person, and a person who may be using AI tools to mitigate accessibility challenges etc.

Hmmm I have no solid basis to dispute that but.... the calluses I earned while dressing a few thousand reclaimed lime mortared bricks may provide some supporting evidence. Admitted, its easier to separate than a cement mortar, but it definitely has a strong desire to cling.

That could be more difficult than it sounds.... I've met more than few 'beings' whose membership of the human variety was a bit dubious - bank managers, lawyers, high court judges....

It's handy check is now out of date. I just checked and got the following answer:

There are 3 R's in strawberry - the 3rd, 8th and 9th letters.
